In gerenal, anyone who is interested in making a difference is invited to apply to become a Home Sustainability Assessor. What are the work opportunities?
The Green Loans Assessment will be subsidised by the commonwealth government resulting in being free to the home owner.

Green Loans Assessor Training
EcoSmart have been approved to provide the Green Loans Assessor Training. The Australian Government has sponsored the development of a course 'Professional Household Sustainability Assessment (Residential)' for the purpose of preparing persons to conduct Household Sustainability Assessments. The Green Loans Assessor course will be accredited by the commonwealth government. This training forms part of this accreditation. Assessors under the Scheme are required to be suitably qualified and experienced.
Given the level of complexity of house inspections for Household Sustainability Assessment data collection and analysis, it is important that those that conduct inspections and use the software are adequately trained. It is expected people applying for the course have as a minimum, a reasonable level of understanding of building design, building thermal performance, energy systems, water systems, and the behaviour of occupants as they interact with buildings.
Examples of prerequisite qualifications or experience may include:
- Building Thermal Performance Assessment (Residential);
- or a qualification in Architecture or Building Design;
- or substantial experience in the building industry;
- or Home Sustainability Assessment registration 21854-VIC.
This course typically takes four days of classroom training to complete.
Assessors may be either independent operators holding an ACN/ABN or associated with a registered company or organisation that provides assessment services.
